Arnie has been involved
in virtually every aspect of travel journalism, publishing and media for
the past 30 years. He created the industry's first destination
information service (Weissmann Reports), authored a best-selling

and licensing content to Apple, Time, Inc, CNN and Marriott
International, among others. Weissmann Reports was sold to Reed Elsevier
in 1996, after which Arnie was given responsibility for Star Service
(critical hotel and cruise reviews), Official Hotel Guide Worldwide and a
dozen OAG-branded publications in the UK. In 1999, he took on the role
of senior advisor for business development at Reed Elsevier’s travel
group, and in October 2001 was appointed editor in chief of Travel
Weekly, the primary source of news, research, analysis and opinion for
the US travel community.
Subsequently, his responsibilities have expanded to the role of
editorial director, providing guidance to Travel Weekly China and Travel
Weekly Asia as well. Arnie’s writing has received more than 45 national
and international awards; he has been inducted into the MIN magazine Editorial and Design
Hall of Fame and received the American Business Media G.D. Crain Jr.
Award, the highest honor given in business-to-business journalism.
Arnie’s comments have appeared on CBS, NBC, CNN, BBC and Sky News, and he is
regular contributor to the PBS show The Travel Detective. He is often
quoted in other media outlets, including the New York Times, Wall Street
Journal, USA Today, NPR, SiriusXM, Armed Forces Network and Monocle radio. He has been a repeat guest
