Northstar Travel Group is seeking a Senior Marketing Executive who will be responsible for delivering effective marketing campaigns for defined brands and products. This individual will produce marketing material and co-ordinate marketing activities to ensure campaigns are on schedule and within budget.  This role uses both online and offline marketing methods, (print and online advertising, email marketing, direct mail campaigns, use of social media and emerging channels etc.) and strong communication skills to build effective relationships with key internal stakeholders and external contacts.

The role is based in our London office 1 day a week with the flexibility to work remotely 4 days a week.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Exhibition marketing experience
  • 1 year minimum in a marketing executive role

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Helps plan marketing activity and fulfils all marketing campaigns to deadlines and within budget           
  • Demonstrates industry awareness and audience understanding (visitor, exhibitor, reader etc), identifying key competitors, monitoring industry news and market trends
  • Writes and edits high quality, compelling copy, which is accurate and grammatically correct, making sure that all printed and online communications demonstrate the defined value proposition for the brand                                                                                                                                         
  • With the Marketing Manager, manages budgets for their brands, ensuring updates are timely and accurate and avoiding overspending, escalating issues where appropriate
  • Develops and maintains all relevant collateral and brand communication programmes to support marketing campaigns
  • Assesses, monitors and improves marketing efficiency by conducting regular analysis of marketing KPI’s, reporting on campaign results, revenue generated and agreed effectiveness measures to evaluate success and make recommendations for improvement for future campaigns
  • Provides regular status to key contacts on progress and potential concerns relating to promotional activity and general workload
  • Develops strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure marketing activity is fully aligned with business needs
  • Is able to expand role to other portfolios or products should the need arise.

  • Good understanding of marketing principles, developments and new techniques and demonstrated experience in campaign management
  • Strong project management and organisation skills and ability to manage several simultaneous projects to tight deadlines and to prioritise tasks that deliver greatest revenue opportunities, keeping planning documentation up to date accurately (schedules, gant charts, art room schedules, sponsorship documentation etc)
  • Shows strong understanding of the industry, visitor segments and supplier base of the market they are communicating to
  • Ability to think ‘outside the box’ to deliver innovative marketing campaigns that achieve audience objectives
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written – and a strong track record of creating compelling and effective communications
  • Shows confidence in suggesting improvements to campaigns
  • Shows ability to think further afield when planning and executing tasks, thinking ‘one step ahead’
  • Strong analytical skills and awareness of online and digital platforms
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with a gift for developing strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and relevant third parties, generating credibility, trust and respect throughout all interactions
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of I.T. including Office packages, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook

 

Success Measures

  • Develops compelling brand propositions for each brand product to ensure all agreed targets are achieved
  • Devises and implements successful integrated marketing campaigns, using a full marketing mix to deliver agreed targets
  • Delivers high quality marketing materials requiring minimal edits/amendments which align with the value proposition for each of their defined products
