We
are looking for an Event Marketing Associate to join our Meetings Group
team. You will provide prospecting, audience
development and audience engagement services for both new and current meetings
and sports industry buyers, with an emphasis on hosted-buyer event recruiting
in support of our Audience and Buyer Development teams. You will be responsible
for developing and maintaining a pipeline of quality event attendees, targeting
new marketing initiatives to grow our audience and provide on-site support for
our events. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to work in support
of the travel industry with a focus on audience development, sales and
marketing.
This
role can be based in our corporate office in Rutherford, NJ. Northstar permits
remote work and candidates from other locations will be equally considered,
although the position is best located in the Eastern or Central time
zones. Relative frequent, primarily
domestic US travel is required once the candidate is familiar with the role and
its responsibilities.
What
You’ll Do:
- Prospect meeting and event professionals
via database management, social media, email and cold calling to discover,
engage and convert new buyers to the Northstar Meetings Group community.
- Develop and maintain a qualifying
database and pipeline of leads for buyer development team.
- Leverage
internal CRM and database to initiate lifecycle marketing campaigns
targeting both new and existing audience.
- Support the reviewing, qualifying and
rejecting of buyer applications, and update database accordingly.
- Travel
up to 10 events per year, approximately 3 days each, and provide on-site
support to the event and sales teams.
- Assume
primary responsibility for recruiting 1-3 events annually
- Work closely with content, marketing and
audience development team to reach potential buyers using lead gen tools and
social media.
- Work
collaboratively with sales and events team to support event sponsors.
- Set
up and maintain event marketing calendar and marketing target lists.
- Build event registrations and lead gen
forms as needed.
- Administer
or coordinate special projects as necessary.
Who
You Are:
- Prior
experience in customer prospecting, lifecycle marketing and/or lead generation.
- Aptitude
and interest in a career in travel, audience development and events
marketing.
- Experience
with customer relationship management software and content management systems.
Google AdManager and LinkedIn Ads familiarity preferred.
- Exceptional
and professional communication skills, including telephone.
- Strong
organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient
in digital media including social media, content management systems
- Adobe
and HTML design experience a plus.
- Proficient
in Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and
Outlook).
