Northstar Travel Group is seeking a Director of Digital Operations who will oversee the next phase of digital ad production and the next level of delivery of revenue. This position will work with digital ad operations, product development, product implementation, integrated media solutions, and process-intensive campaigns. Some examples of products are traditional website display, native content, social, video, email, eNewsletter etc. The ideal candidate is an expert in digital media and has the ability to help grow and lead this team to maximize revenue, along with optimizing department workflow, policy, staff development, outsourced services, and relationships with internal and external customers. 

This individual will develop strong partnerships with sales, marketing, customer success, and development leaders to drive focus on business objectives.  This individual will also become a trusted partner for senior management team to ensure department success and growth. The ideal candidate will be able to anticipate and aggressively remove obstacles that slow down or prevent customer media from being delivered on time, on budget, and on point with program goals. This role will also work with the business unit team resources to provide best in class reporting, delivery optimization and quality platforms. 

The ideal candidate will bring structure and process to a growing team in a fast-paced environment. This individual will stay abreast of industry trends in online advertising and ad operations to ensure the company is staying ahead of the curve. 

This position is hybrid and will be based in our office in Secaucus, NJ two days per week and remote the other three days.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee current digital campaign managers, traffickers, program management who are responsible for ensuring all ad campaigns, regardless of medium used are running smoothly
  • Participate in technology software reviews and work with vendors on key functionality.  Make recommendations if software needs to be replaced, removed, or upgraded.  This would include Email Service Provider, website ad server, material trafficking, and metrics/analytics reporting tool
  • Optimize ad operations and trafficking functions – campaign QC, implementation, trafficking, delivery, troubleshooting, reporting, inventor optimization, and billing integration
  • Scale team and capabilities, leveraging internal and external resources, including establishment of SLAs for issue resolution
  • Act as a point of escalation for troubleshooting issues and provide technical support to external and internal clients to ensure issues are resolved and a plan for the prevention of the same issues is put into place
  • Work with the business to ensure proper lead time is provided before the launch of new websites, eNewsletters or other digital products
  • Provide review, analysis and recommendation for inventory and yield management that focuses on optimization strategy and determines who will collaborate with teams responsible for onboarding new ad initiatives
  • Work with internal team to provide best in class reporting
  • Frequently evaluate the suite of tools and services used by digital operations, and provide insights and recommendations to ensure the teams evolving needs are met

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • We require an individual with digital media expertise.   A candidate that understands the conceptual technology background with thorough understanding of a MarTech platform, audience solutions, and reporting.   Technical background, with experience in various tools and applications that drive business success:
  • Proficient communicator at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to diffuse stressful situations and explain complex issues in simple business terms.

  • Highly analytical and detailed by nature

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

 

Related Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in email marketing, ad operations, ad analytics and metrics
  • Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred)
