Working within a small team the role offers a highly motivated individual the independence to quickly assume the management and leadership responsibilities normally associated with the event manager/director. 

The job holder will be part of the senior event management team and is responsible for the delivery of agreed revenues and features of TravelTech Show. This includes establishing, executing and delivery of sales strategy and tactics; effective salespeople management; taking on the delivery of key audience features and the contributing to the strategic development and success of event.

This will include

  • Leading from the front and empowering commercial team to achieve their targets
  • Daily management of the commercial team. 
  • Collaborating with the marketing, conference production, operations and PR teams to execute all sponsor, partner, feature and exhibitor agreements
  • Reviewing show and team performance and motivating them to reach / exceed revenue and audience targets.
  • Compiling and analysing sales figures
  • Keeping your line manager appraised of commercial performance
  • Creating an effective and fun working team environment
  • Managing relationships with existing clients
  • Coordinate an effective onsite rebook


This is initially a contract role to end July 2022 but will be reviewed for a permanent role. 

Key Accountabilities: 

Sales & Relationship Management

  • Deliver on agreed new business development and renewals.
  • Demonstrate strong account management and networking skills.
  • Produce effective proposals, soliciting bids and maintaining working relationships with clients and delegates.
  • Produce effective sales promotional material in collaboration with internal teams.
  • With manager identify, target and prioritise the advertiser and sponsor market to deliver results.
  • Attract, retain and grow revenues from sponsors, advertisers & exhibitors.
  • Identify trends that reveal new revenue opportunities.
  • Ensure agreement of rates and special deals are traceable and recorded.


Exhibition Management

  • Keep exhibition and conference floor plans accurate, avoiding any void areas & keeping colleagues informed of any floor plan movements or changes.
  • Work with internal teams to aid effective delivery of visitor promotions, event features and event goals
  • Manage the content team and timely delivery of the education programme
  • Supply accurate sales data to colleagues when required
  • Manage / liaise with internal team or external stakeholders in the execution of agreed visitor features
  • Help in the delivery of events as required and directed by show teams.
  • Support the team in the delivery of client events.


Leadership and People Management

  • Daily management of direct report(s) x 1
  • Compiling, analysing and reporting sales figures.
  • Reviewing team performance weekly, motivating them to reach agreed targets and facilitating career progression.
  • Training team members to grow their sales capabilities

  • Experience of working collaboratively with multi-platform teams


Success Measures:

  • Individual achieves or exceeds agreed monthly/annual/product/project revenues including exhibition(s), conference(s) and digital revenues
  • Developed new revenue to target from the defined target client list annually
  • Support new product development through engagement and development of productive relationships with key decisions makers in key accounts
  • Cultivate client relationships across multiple countries to grow future revenues
  • Salesforce is kept current and up to date with key decision makers and influencers of client base.
