Northstar Travel Group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Development Associate to join our Travel Group. This junior-level position is a great opportunity for candidates who want to build their own sales career, while gaining exposure and insight into the workings of business-to-business media sales.

This individual will provide administrative and sales support to Business Development Directors and Managers in order to assist them in processing and fulfilling business. The ideal candidate will be able to develop and maintain new and existing clients. 

This is a remote position and is open to candidates based in Los Angeles, California.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Execute and input sales orders and all other required forms and paperwork to support sales activities.
  • Assume primary responsibility for a small number of accounts with the goal of eventually taking on a full-time sales role.
  • Follow up on requests initiated through correspondence and/or phone calls.
  • Communicate as needed with advertisers and advertising agencies.
  • Serve as a liaison with clients, meeting their needs and fulfilling business.
  • Work with internal departments as needed, including order entry, marketing, custom content, production and more.
  • Prepare and/or draft proposals, mailings, email blasts, correspondence, memos, letters and sales reports.
  • Administer or coordinate special projects as necessary.
  • Provide CRM support.
  • Set up and maintain department files.
  • Perform other related activities as required.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

A high level of proficiency is required in the following areas:

  • Attention to detail
  • Exceptional telephone skills
  • Communication skills
  • Organizational and coordination skills
  • Computer experience with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), customer relationship management software, and accounting and billing software
  • This job requires a high degree of professionalism

 

Related Work Experience:

  • Prior experience in inside sales, sales support, and administrative functions is preferred
  • Aptitude and interest in a career in sales strongly preferred
