LOS ANGELES – In July, TravelAge West launched a brand-new Web site at TravelAgeWest.com. The site has a wider range of destination gateways, as well as videos and photo tours, blogs, regional news, enhanced Web-exclusive stories, an industry event calendar and more. The contents of the current print issue can also be found online, as well as fam trips, seminars and other features from the old site, but with a much more updated design. The goal of the new site is to highlight the publication’s firsthand destination and product coverage, which TAW feels is unparalleled in the travel trade media, as proven by the 30-plus editorial and design awards it has won nationally and internationally in the past four years. “As our readers keep pointing out, TravelAge West has very high-caliber destination articles and images. We realized that we needed to build a site that really highlighted that coverage,” said Editor-in-Chief Ken Shapiro. “The new destination pages have also been upgraded significantly. These expanded pages now allow us to feature any destination in the world. By adding videos, photo tours and special Hot Pack offers, we believe we are giving agents everything they need.”
