SECAUCUS, N.J. – Media veteran Tom Kemp has been appointed CEO and Chairman of Northstar Travel Media, parent of B2B brands Travel Weekly, Meetings & Conventions and TravelAge West. He replaces George Hundley, who will continue as chairman of ProfessionalTravelGuide.com, a consumer travel website affiliated with Northstar. “NTM has all the qualities of a successful media company,” Kemp said. “It has the leading competitive brands in their served markets, the highest quality proprietary content, strong attachment and respect of its readers and information users, great long-standing relationships with its customers and a high quality team in all professional functions.” Kemp brings deep experience as a senior operating executive and private equity investor in business-to-business media and information. While at VSS, Kemp was active in the fund’s investments in Schofield Media, Red 7 Media, and Access Intelligence.
