Northstar Travel Media announces Bob Sullivan promotion

Secaucus, NJ USA, July 28, 2014 – Northstar Travel Media, the leading business-to-business information company serving the travel and meetings industries, has promoted Bob Sullivanto President of the Travel Group. Sullivan is now responsible for Northstar’s Retail Group (Travel Weekly and TravelAge West,) PhoCusWright, the Business Travel News Group, Your Travel Insider, Mountain Travel Symposium, Web In Travel, and the retail travel group in Asia and China, including Travel Weekly China and Travel Weekly Asia. Mr. Sullivan will be leading Northstar Travel Group’s continued development as the company diversifies its product offerings and expands further into global travel markets. “We are excited to recognize the success that Bob has achieved in growing the Travel Group. He has been instrumental in executing our strategic plan, which includes significant organic growth as well as execution of strategic acquisitions. Northstar Travel Media has made a considerable investment in growth in 2014, acquiring five companies in a span of six months. These investments are strategic to diversification of revenue sources, globalization, and providing technology solutions to their clients.

The five acquisitions are: 

  • Contineo Travel Group, based in Singapore and including brands such as Travel Weekly China, Travel Weekly Asia and M&C Events China

  • Web in Travel, a group of travel technology conferences in Southeast Asia

  • Mountain Travel Symposium, a retail travel event serving the mountain travel and ski industry

  • Inntopia, an e-commerce software provider serving the leisure travel industry

  • Dataswell, a financial database of global travel industry suppliers and participants
